Greeting from President

President

Since our founding in 1978, YKI Intellectual Property Attorneys has professionally assisted our clients in all aspects of intellectual property practice, including intellectual property creation, rights acquisition, enforcement, dispute resolution, litigation support, and in-house training.

Today, nearly five decades after our founding, we are proud that many of our clients have been with us for decades. Of course, we are proud of our honest, high quality services, but we believe the key to our long relationships is that we work to gain a real understanding of the real needs of our clients, and then we focus our efforts and skills on them.

We help our clients gain maximum value from all types of intellectual property, including inventions, designs, trademarks, and copyrighted works. Each requires its own set of skills. For patents, for example, it is crucial to be able to discern the essence of the new technology, not to leave gaps in future protections. Trademark practice demands broad skills and experience, to give advice encompassing an understanding of a client’s specific and overall business and domestic and international legal issues. Our expertise and experience help us effectively and realistically protect and promote the interests of our clients, providing each the most appropriate services at the most appropriate time.

We are a Japanese firm, but to serve our clients in Japan requires a global network. Each of our professionals is involved in international organizations, and we create opportunities for exchanging views and ideas with professionals from all over the world. We have established ties based on mutual trust with an international network of professionals. This serves the best interest of our clients by giving them access to effective protection of intellectual property and dispute resolution almost anywhere in the world.

My goal as President is to make sure that every member of this firm understands our history, what made us the leading firm we are today, and that we continue as a firm to remain focused on our clients and what benefits them; the intellectual property world changes constantly, but our focus on our clients will not.

Kimio KAMIYAMA,
President
